Terms of Use

EloLifter is a post-game chess-analysis service. You can sign in with Google, upload a PGN, and receive engine-based analysis and automated educational feedback.

The public may view the EloLifter homepage. Creating an account is required to use analysis features.

You must be at least 18 years old to create or use an EloLifter account. By using EloLifter, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

EloLifter is operated from India and designed primarily for users in India. Access may be available elsewhere. If a regional notice is shown, you must acknowledge it before continuing. That notice does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Google is the only available sign-in method. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure.

You must provide accurate information and must not create or use an account for unlawful, harmful, or deceptive purposes.

You may upload PGNs only where you have the right to do so. PGNs can contain information about other players, including names, ratings, game results, and dates. You are responsible for ensuring that your upload and use of that information are lawful and appropriate.

You retain any rights you have in your PGNs. You grant EloLifter a limited licence to store, process, analyse, and display your PGNs and related data solely to operate, secure, and improve the service for you.

EloLifter uses third-party AI model providers and chess engines to generate chess analysis and educational feedback.

OpenAI Responses API requests are sent with response storage disabled. OpenAI may separately retain request and response data temporarily for abuse monitoring as described in our Privacy Policy.

This output is provided for general educational use only. It may be incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for a particular position or situation. Always use your own judgment when reviewing a game. EloLifter does not guarantee chess accuracy, rating improvement, tournament results, or any particular outcome.

EloLifter uses third-party services, including Google Sign-In, Firebase Analytics, AWS, Stockfish, and OpenAI. Your use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

You must not:

• Upload content you do not have permission to use;
• Attempt to access another person's account or interfere with the service;
• Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, scrape, or bypass security measures;
• Use EloLifter for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activity;
• Use automated means to access the service except where we expressly allow it.

We may suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or when necessary to protect EloLifter, its users, or others.

We may modify, pause, or discontinue any part of EloLifter at any time. We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

EloLifter, its branding, software, layouts, and service content are owned by or licensed to EloLifter and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not give you ownership of EloLifter's intellectual property.

Third-party software and artwork remain the property of their respective owners and are provided under their applicable licences. See our Open-Source Attributions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EloLifter is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not make warranties about availability, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EloLifter will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information. You may request account deletion by emailing support@elolifter.com from your account email address.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure page views, clicks, device information, and approximate location such as country. Analytics is optional, is not used by us for advertising, and can be declined or changed through the Analytics preferences control in the site footer without losing access to EloLifter.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continuing to use EloLifter after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern about EloLifter, please contact us first at support@elolifter.com, and we will try to resolve it reasonably and in good faith. Mandatory protections of the law that applies where you live are not excluded by this clause.
